Concussions are common

They occur during sporting events, car accidents, from falling over and even during physical education lessons. They are a serious injury but are often overlooked or managed badly.

What is a concussion?

A concussion is a force applied to the brain (via the head or body contact) that results in temporary dysfunction in brain signalling. It is short-lived and usually resolves on its own. But you need to do your best to make sure that your brain gets its chance to heal.

What can you do to help?

You can be the one who changes how concussions are handled right there in your school. You can help to minimise or even prevent the serious consequences of concussions. A concussion is not just an injury, it can affect your whole life.

How can Head First help you?

Head First can help you become a Concussion Champion. We will teach you how to recognise concussions, and what to do if you experience one or witness one.

Head First will teach you the importance of concussions so you can teach others, how to put their Head... First.
